RHS Chelsea Flower Show
RHS Chelsea Flower show is recognising the 'Best of the Best' all coming together and competing to win a Gold medal. Well, i very own Charlotte from Hilary's has competed three times over the years and has come away with two medals.
Competing within the floristry category requires the very highest of ability and skills to gain you a place in the final. Florists must first win their regional qualifying heats to proceed to the final which is always staged in the great pavilion at the end of May, Charlotte has won her heats three times in a row to gain her place at Chelsea.
In 2011 Charlotte had to design and create a floral Jockey Silk, pictured below.
In 2012 Charlotte's brief was to design and create a Floral Chandelier for the Queen's Diamond jubilee banquet, Charlotte's chandelier took her 16 weeks to hand make the individual lace petals and to construct the framework, and a further 14 hours to attach by hand the individual flower heads.
This year Charlotte as been selected to be part of the Interflora Team who will be exhibiting at the show ground this year under the guidance of head florist David Ragg.
